Infrared Radiation
Infrared radiation refers to the hear bearing wave of sunlight or those waves in the section of the electromagnetic spectrum between the visible band and micro waves.

What infrared waves do to the skin
Infrared waves provide the warming effect you get when you stand in the sun or near a bonfire. Other terms used in reference to infrared radiation include the following:
- Far infrared radiation (FIR)
- Infrared waves
- Radiant heat
These heat-bearing waves can penetrate the skin to a depth depths of 1½ to 3 inches and cause the blood vessels to dilate. A whole range of health benefits is associated with this effect of infrared waves on the skin.
Can we see infrared radiation?
Infrared radiation is actually invisible to the human eye. Often what we see as red is one part of the visible spectrum of seven colors. Beyond the red part of the visible spectrum is the infrared.
